A balanced scorecard is a strategy performance management tool – a well-structured report used to keep track of the execution of activities by staff and to monitor the consequences arising from these actions.
The term ‘balanced scorecard’ primarily refers to a performance management report used by a management team, and typically focused on managing the implementation of a strategy or operational activities. In a 2020 survey 88% of respondents reported using the balanced scorecard for strategy implementation management, and 63% for operational management. Although less common, the balanced scorecard is also used by individuals to track personal performance; only 17% of respondents in the survey reported using balanced scorecards in this way. However it is clear from the same survey that a larger proportion (about 30%) use corporate balanced scorecard elements to inform personal goal setting and incentive calculations.

Automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) refers to the methods of automatically identifying objects, collecting data about them, and entering that data directly into computer systems (i.e. without human involvement). Technologies typically considered as part of AIDC include bar codes, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), biometrics, magnetic stripes, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), smart cards, and voice recognition. AIDC is also commonly referred to as “Automatic Identification,” “Auto-ID,” and “Automatic Data Capture.”

Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a collection of statistical models and their associated estimation procedures (such as the “variation” among and between groups) used to analyze the differences among means. ANOVA was developed by the statistician Ronald Fisher. ANOVA is based on the law of total variance, where the observed variance in a particular variable is partitioned into components attributable to different sources of variation. In its simplest form, ANOVA provides a statistical test of whether two or more population means are equal, and therefore generalizes the t-test beyond two means. In other words, the ANOVA is used to test the difference between two or more means.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analysis_of_variance

Consider this: Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a statistical method used to compare the means of three or more groups and determine whether there are statistically significant differences between them. It assesses whether the variability among group means exceeds what would be expected due to random variation alone.

Adaptive Control

Adaptive control is the control method used by a controller which must adapt to a controlled system with parameters which vary, or are initially uncertain. For example, as an aircraft flies, its mass will slowly decrease as a result of fuel consumption; a control law is needed that adapts itself to such changing conditions.

FROM MY BEST SELLER: Make Analytics Great Again

A/B testing is a way of comparing two versions of the same variable, usually by testing a subject’s response to variable A against variable B and determining which of the two variables is more effective.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A/B_testing

Consider this: A company wants to increase the number of users who subscribe to their homepage newsletter. It’s a simple exercise in hypothesis (in this case, speculating) and testing. In this case, the company offers 50% of its users the old subscription page, and they provide the other 50% what they think will attract more subscriptions. They run the test, compare the statistics for the old page to the new page, and make their decisions based on that. A is the old page, and B is the proposed page. It’s that simple.

Not everyone likes a decent man

There is an elephant in the room.

Why do seemingly good people embrace faulty and toxic logic and reason?

I find it really strange.

But there is also something that I have learned late in life. It is that the political and social extremes, informed or not, hate subtlety, universal applicability, and reason. So if your language includes expressions such as ‘it depends’, ‘on the other hand’ and ‘but from another perspective’, your arguments will be derided and your right to an opinion frequently denied.

My Thoughts About Leadership

Leadership, wherever it is to be found, and it can be found almost everywhere, plays an essential role in everything, and it comes in all shapes and sizes. The subject of leadership, like strategy, is very close to me, and these are facets of my knowledge and experience that I constantly try to improve. Here, I am detailing some of the leadership points of view that I have developed or embraced to some degree or another. These are things that have also served to shape me and, more importantly, to bring me to where I now am: the village of Bandoxa.
